Northeast High School Brazil Club

With funding from the Department of Behavioral Health of the City of Philadelphia, BOSS helped to launch the Brazilian Student Club at Northeast High School. Since September 2007, Brazilian students at Northeast High School have met on a weekly basis to learn about, discuss, and share their country's history, culture, and language. Non-Brazilian students are welcome to join the club--the only requirement is an interest in Brazil!

BOSS maintains a database of Brazilian enthusiasts in the Philadelphia area as well as a list of social services geared towards students and youth. The information is used by the club monitors (the Northeast High School ESOL coordinator and a bilingual counselor) to link Brazilian students with other individuals interested in their home country and with people capable of providing needed services to the students and their families.

If you would like to learn more about the club or are interested in participating in club activities as a volunteer or mentor, or if you would like to offer your knowledge or services in any way, please contact Priscilla. We are especially interested in identifying folks who would like to work with the students to develop a presentation and/or show for Northeast High School's annual multicultural fair.

O clube brasileiro
